So it’s best to cover those eventualities and prepare a plan beforehand if a situation does arise.

Tips on Getting Guests to the Wedding Reception

  • People may arrive at the reception at different times. Make sure there is enough time allowed for late guests after all they will not want to miss the entrance of the bride and groom, be rushed to their seats or walk into the reception late.
  • Add a map, driving directions and best-man/ushers mobile numbers in the wedding invitation. If needed add information and expected schedule times.
  • Check with the reception manager that there will be ample parking for your wedding party. If there is a chance that some people may have difficulty parking then send out information on other car parking locations which are close to the venue.
  • Off load some pressure and worry by asking ushers or the best man to exchange mobile numbers so that late guests can be located or helped out with directions should they get lost.
