Fan Bouquets became popular in the 1980’s they are made up of a beautiful row of flowers attached onto or inside a fan and are commonly seen in Asian weddings. The fan style wedding bouquet is simple, elegant and a little different to traditional bouquets.
Traditionally the fan bouquet is to be held at chest height and not in front of the face, they also make perfect bouquets for brides who want to be a little different. If you are getting married in the midst of summer the fan will look spot on in place with some lovely weather, but be careful any younger bridesmaids don’t start flapping them about to cool off and have the flowers dropping out!
Ideal flowers for a fan bouquet
The flowers should complement fan size and design, if you have a fan with delicate detail then bold flowers may drown out the design. If you want to have flowers along the full edge of the fan then buds like roses can create a fabulous look as they are a similar size. Along with the use of flowers you can embellish the fan with ribbon, beads, pearls and the delicate flower baby’s breath to give that additional pazazz.
