Every bride looks beautiful on her wedding day and once you have your wedding date set and your venue booked you may have some ideas on what type of photography styles you like, which family and friends you want together on photographs and what locations you want capturing at the ceremony, venue, and reception.

Here are some tips to make sure you work with and get the best from your photographer.

Give your photographer a list of pictures you definitely want to capture on the day, without fail.  Your wedding day will go quite fast and there is one change to make sure you have the keepsake pictures so don’t forget to go through your list with the wedding photographer and get their suggestions too.

See if you can arrange a pre-wedding or engagement photo shoot. as this will help you get to know your photographer, how they work and the results and also give you some opportunities to try out some poses and maybe different hairstyles too!

See if you are able to get a range of photographs whilst holding the bouquet in different ways. If you hold your flowers too high you may not see the detail on the body of the dress and if you hold it too low you can look stiff and this may be unflattering for your arms.

Ask your photographer to guide you and work on a plan together, below we have added a list of various photo ideas.
